Priest Leveling Guide
Priests are well known for their healing ability and usually get classified as healers before anyone is able to say otherwise. With recent tweaks and changes to the various trees, all specializations of priests are viable options.
Shadow priests provide a unique set of skills that enhance groups in ways the outside gamer cannot understand. When doing damage with their spells, two spells placed on the target siphon off a certain percentage of the shadow damage and convert it into both mana and health and heal the damage and replenish the mana of the people in the shadow priest’s group.
Along with fear, which can only be used sparingly as you could cause a monster to run around in an uncontrolled path and gather additional monsters, making the encounter very difficult to be managed.
Priests also have begun to find a moderate damage increase with the new level 80 skills. Shadow priests can compare in damage to the best of dps classes with the right gear, and practice. There are certain spell rotations and certain macros that will help any person become a good shadow priest, and while we could list all day the options you have, you will find what works best for you. If you can’t seem to find a rotation that works for you, look around on the Warcraft forums, or ask a fellow shadow priest!
When Shadow priests are in Shadow form if they choose to get it at level 80, they cannot cast any holy spells or it will remove the shadow form effect and cause them a waste of mana if they have to shift right back in. Priests with the new dual specialization ability can now be useful and not run up ridiculous bills switching back and forth between holy and shadow, so that they can quest and hunt, and heal when the guild, group, or raid calls on them.
When a priest was forced or chose to change talent specialization, it cost a certain amount of gold. Each time you did it, the price increased 5 gold a time, up until a maximum of 50 gold per time. The price is reduced over time by 5 gold as you leave your specialization the same.
With the changes from only being able to be one talent specialization at a time, to dual specializations, it allows classes once trapped under a single function, to be able to hunt, and queston their own without changing their talents or relying on groups. This is a freedom a lot of classes now enjoy!
The priests in World of Warcraft have enjoyed a steady popularity, based on their healing abilities, as well as their DPS abilities when they are specialized under a mainly shadow tree.
When you follow our guide, you will find levelling your priest will be a breeze. We will dispel the myths that priests are hard to level because they are too “squishy” and we will show you levelling a priest all on their own without help, is also possible!
