Paladin Leveling Up
Paladins are the jack of all trades. With the newer patches and newest expansions, the Retribution specialization now has validity. It can do damage comparable to other damage classes and can keep up with them and even surpass them. They can survive as tanks, and can even be excellent healers.
Tanking, healing and DPS are the three main sections of raiding and grouping. Every group requires an even sorting of them. Only Druids and Paladins can play all three roles in excellent fashion. Paladins are a favoured class for tanking due to the easy abilities they have to tank multiple targets at one time with little effort. Using a combination of old and new skills, paladins can grab and maintain hold on multiple targets at once. The only downfall to this is the potential for crowd control (Saps, sheep’s, sleeps and shackles) to be broken by the paladin while trying to keep the horde of monsters under control.
Paladins have a few “trouble” buttons that can allow them to pull a bad situation around and turn it good. They have a once every hour full heal that can target anyone. They also have the ability to sacrifice themselves (basically committing suicide) to place a protective immunity bubble around the target for 3 minutes and removing them from combat. This is useful when a wipe is happening and you want to remove a healer from combat so they can resurrect people without the whole crew having to run back from the graveyard.
Paladins also have a fine array of buffs that will help the group out. These buffs have two versions. The lesser lasts only 10 minutes and targets a single person, while the greater version lasts 30 minutes and affects all of the people in the targeted class. Meaning, that if you target one paladin with Greater Blessing of Might, all Paladins in the group or raid get blessing of might.
Paladins when tanking have a little thing to worry about that no other tanking class have to worry about. That is their mana bar, as the mana bar runs low a Paladin may have to conserve mana, take a potion, or if a druid happens to be in the group/raid then ask for an innervate. Paladins with no mana can be rather useless and potentially lose the monsters fast if the damage and healers keep going.
Paladins like warriors, wear plate armour. Paladins also have no ranged weapon usage like wands, which means that in the wand slot, you can fit a libram. There are Libram’s for each and every talent specialization, you just need to find the one you want, find out how to get it, and then get it.
When following the guild through and levelling your paladin, you need to just remember your mana bar. Ensure that you keep it as full as you can at all times and ensure that you keep yourself repaired as often as you visit town. Plate wearing characters are great for the fact they don’t take a lot of damage, but as you follow the guide and get your very own warrior to level 80, you will find with plate come huge repair bills!
